What is IVF ?

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a complex series of procedures used to help with fertility or prevent genetic problems and assist with the conception of a child. In vitro fertilization is the fertilization process of the egg obtained from the woman and the sperm obtained from the man in the laboratory environment in couples with infertility problems. Today, depending on different infertility problems, in vitro fertilization treatment options are offered with the best results.

IVF is the most effective form of assisted reproductive technology. The procedure can be done using your own eggs and your partner's sperm. Or IVF may involve eggs, sperm or embryos from a known or anonymous donor. In some cases, a gestational carrier — a woman who has an embryo implanted in her uterus — might be used. It is a method in which a determined dose of medication is used for approximately 15 days to create a certain number of eggs in the expectant mother. In this process, egg development in the expectant mother is followed by ultrasonography and certain test techniques. When the follicles containing the egg cell reach the desired size, the egg total process is applied. The collection process of the matured eggs with the maturation needle calledOvum Pick Upin short OPU .

Step 1: Reproductive Health Evaluation

The first stage, in which the reproductive health of prospective mothers and fathers who want to have a child but cannot achieve it naturally, is evaluated; It's a doctor's appointment. Doctor interview and evaluation are very important in assisted reproductive techniques. Personalized treatment at the EuroIVF Center, which has maintained success rates above the world average for years, is one of the key points of this success. Personalized Treatment Planning is done after this first evaluation. Our doctor will create the most appropriate treatment protocol for you, depending on all the parameters, after evaluating your situation, performing the necessary medical examinations and listening to you.

Doctor Examination and Examinations

In the preliminary interview, depending on the examination, your doctor may request tests such as hormone tests such as AMH, FSH, PROLAKTIN, thyroid test, medicated uterine film, hysteroscopy for the expectant mother. A spermiogram evaluation is made from the father-to-be. After the gynecological examination and vaginal ultrasound of the expectant mother, together with the results of the examination, our doctor will create a special treatment protocol for you.

Step 2: Stimulation of the Ovaries with Medication

If there are no additional treatments that your doctor deems necessary for you before the treatment 2-4 of your period. During the day, drug treatment is started to stimulate your ovaries. This is injected with small needles shot through the abdomen. ilaçlar ortalama 8-12 gün boyunca kullanılır. During this process, your doctor evaluates the number and size of the follicles (liquid-filled sacs containing the eggs) in your ovaries with ultrasound at regular intervals during the examinations. Depending on the hormone levels and ultrasound findings in the blood tests at the last stage of drug therapy, the time for egg retrieval is decided.

Step 3: Collecting Eggs

To collect the matured eggs with the maturation needlei this procedure is also called . It is a procedure that takes about 15 minutes in which the expectant mother is put to sleep under general anesthesia.

Eggs in follicles (fluid-filled sacs containing eggs) collected from the ovaries with the help of ultrasound are separated by embryologists under a microscope. Obtained egg cells, according to sperm quality, in laboratory conditions, classical in vitro fertilization (IVF)IVFor microinjection (ICSI)ICSIfertilized using the method.

Step 4: ICSI (Intra cytoplasmic sperm injection: Microinjection):

Among the collected eggs, the most mature ones are selected and fertilized by the embryologist in the laboratory environment by injecting the sperm taken from the father-to-be into the egg through a glass needle. The fertilized egg cell, the zygote, then proceeds to the embryo stage by cell division. Fertilization is checked after 16-18 hours by keeping it in the incubator. Thanks to this fertilization, the embryo, which is the building block of the baby, is formed. Depending on the embryo quality, the timing of transfer is determined.

Step 5: Embryo Transfer

It can be planned after 48- 72 or even 120 hours, that is, depending on the number and development of embryos, the transfer is made on the 3rd or the 5th day. The experience of the team performing the Embryo Transfer directly affects the success. Embryos are gently transferred from the cervix into the uterus with the help of a thin plastic tube. Thanks to the simple and painless procedure, the expectant mother can be discharged after half an hour of rest. The progesterone hormone applied vaginally or intramuscularly is given to the patient for two weeks until the pregnancy test.

Step 6: Pregnancy Test

With the pregnancy test performed 12 days after the transfer process, beta hcg hormone in the blood is measured and it is checked whether pregnancy has occurred after the transfer.
